Last December Forbes ranked the best housing values among 300 US cities. Seattle ranked number 16.
There are some interesting features of this list:
NO California cities make the top 20. I this due to high housing costs there?
Same can be said for Virginia and the DC surrounds .. except for the military rich Norfolk News.
The presence of top academic institutions did not seem as important as I would have thought.. Ann Arbor, New Haven, King of Prussia (PA), Princeton NJ do not make it.
The presence of industrial health complexes .. e.g. Mayo Clinic or Cleveland Clinic .. did not seem to make it either.
Oh yeh, fracking driven oil wealth seem not to help either.
Oh hell … I just looked for newer Forbes list, we are still there but the lists seem to change.
