Will “Kurdistan” Emerge as A New Force for Peace Between Israel and Palestine?
Remember Saladin?
The great conqueror of the Crusaders was a Kurd. Maimonides, the greatest Jewish Rabbi, was an adviser and physician to Saladin.
While Sadam Hussein’s rule was limited by America’s ban on his air force, Israelis began collaborating with Saladin’s descendants, the Kurds of Iraq. Later, after Bush’s war destroyed Hussein’s Sunni Arab rule over Iraq, Israel collaborated with the establishment of what now appears to be a new, KURDISH state.
Now the government of Iraqi Kurdistan completed its first successful sale and shipment of oil to Israel. The oil was transshipped via a Kurdish pipeline into through Turkey to the port of Ceyhan and shipped from there to Israel. Turkey has also been involved with Kurdistan in an effort to not allow a Kurdish state that would foment civil war by Turkey’s own Kurdish minority. Perhaps this is the beginning of new, warm alliance .. Turkey/Israel/Kurdistan?
