There are 160 known, active Ku Klux Klan chapters in the United States, according to research from the Southern Poverty Law Center.
South Carolina comes out rather well, with only 3 in the state borders. A bit surprising given that SC was the source of most of the ideas that undelay the KKK’s racism and especially its bigotry against Jews and Catholics.
Still, it does make one ask why would any civilized person want to live there?
