Cagliari is in Italy, Sardinia to be exact, an intresting place, it’s been a
cross roads and seaport for almost 3000 years. perhaps more, the culture is
an intresting blend of North Africa and Europe, worth the time to visit.
This time in though I didn’t make it ashore, DNV wanted a new steering gear
pump installed on account of our grounding in Egypt, and they wanted all of
the steering rams opened and inspected, so all in all I worked around 36
hours straight, I got the new pump installed, while two guys opened the
steering rams, we were delayed a day.
Sunday night we passed from the Med into the Atlantic, and expect to make
Halifax on the 24th.
Yes I have heard of drone Merchant Ships, the idea is not new, it was first
proposed back in the 70’s, it never gains much traction, to many things can
go wrong over the course of a voyage, that would need human judgement.
Ihear a helocopter crashed in Seattle, I hope you are al OK.
