Lets Assume The Seahawks Go Back To The Super Bowl
Given the status of Arizona as the most western of the modern Confederate States, shouldn’t Seattle refuse to attend the SUPERBOWL even if their frickin Governor chickens out and signs The Religious Freedom Restoration Act, S.B. 1062?
Of course the Hawks may have to go, despite the NFL rules:
“Our policies emphasize tolerance and inclusiveness and prohibit discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or any other improper standard,” Greg Aiello, NFL spokesman, told USA Today. “We are following the issue in Arizona and will continue to do so should the bill be signed into law, but will decline further comment at this time.”
THE Ave suggests a campaign, led by Mayor Ed (BTW he is gay) Murray to boycott attendance at a Superbowl in Arizona or any other state of the Confederacy. Even if Gov. Brewer vetoes this thing, how can we ask our citizens to travel to a place where being gay means you can be refused a taco, being Hispanic means you can be arrested for being seen eating a taco, and anyone dumb enough to walk around without a gun on her hip is considered target practice?
Do the Hawks need a “12th” man? OK, lets raise the funds to buy out any tickets allotted to the Northwest ad gift them to any fan who can claim to be either gay or an illegal immigrant! We can chip any free tickets the local politicians get as well as tickets places like Microsoft and Boeing buy as sponsors. Oh yeah, we should also raise some bucks to buy these new fans 12th man tee shirts!
Gov. Brewer just announced she has vetoed S.B. 1062 — but not because ignorance, bigotry, and discrimination are wrong. Or because gays are entitled to the same rights as everyone else. No, she vetoed it because it wasn’t one of her legislative priorities. That tells you everything you need to know about this governor.
What more evidence do you need that capitalism works?
Mrs. Brewer did the right thing for the bucks!
