WORCESTER — The embattled embalmer who is unable to find a cemetery willing to bury Tamerlan Tsarnaev was turned down by the city of Cambridge yesterday and is threatening to take his desperate plea for help to the White House as well as the State House today.
“I need some help here,” Peter A. Stefan said yesterday as protesters continued to picket the Graham Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlor in Worcester. “I’ve taken heat on this from Day 1. You want to criticize me, fine. Criticism is cheap. Give me an idea.”
After the city of Cambridge and several other cemeteries turned him down, Stefan said he is hoping Gov. Deval Patrick’s office will intervene and choose Tsarnaev’s final resting place. If not, “I’ll call the White House,” he vowed.
