President Romney Salutes the Immigrant Workers Who Make the Kentucky Derby Possible.
In an interview with the magazine “Latino Horse Owners,” President Romney discussed the ways Immigration reform and his revised Obamacare could improve the Kentucky Derby. While showing LHO’s Tobey Santiago around the new While House Stables, the President remarked:
” You know my own father was a Mexican? Some of the best people come from there. I have been very concerned about the effects of my predecessors health plan on Francisco and Mary’s ability to make wages here in the US. This is especially true this weekend because of the role Latinas and Latinas play behind the scenes at the Kentucky Derby.”
“Every year, hundreds of licensed immigrants work on the backside of Churchill Downs and Latinos are hired by trainers, to care for the horses. This is all within the law because the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission requires migrant workers to provide documentation and identification in order to secure a license. Our immigrations reform, the Rubio Rand Act, means the hired help may not have as much red tape to go through to become a U.S. citizen.”
Patting his famous white stallion, “Decadence,” the President went on “a huge market will open in Louisville for the tacos and other stuff these good people eat after keeping Louisville clean by sweeping up after the horses. The Rubio Rand act will mean these hard working people can stay in Louisville year round, pay fees, possible penalties and back taxes, if any. AND, he emphasized, the citizens of Kentucky will be safe because ” Rubio Rand means all these workers will undergo a criminal background check, national security background check and then they would be placed into the FBI computers!”
President Romney’s reform also calls for U.S. citizens to learn English if they want to get healthcare.
