Rumor: Paul Ryan ‘Taking a Hard Look’ at Presidential Run
The rumor that a group of right wing Republicans, calling themselves “Repricans,” have asked vide president Ryan to explore running against Mr. Romney is false.
Asked about that at last week’s news conference, Mr. Romney’s only comment was that “My friend Paul is loyal.”
Mr. Ryan denies having been approached and went further to say, “The problems with our economy are not the President’s fault. The problems represent the problems represent the result of what is, in effect, a union between these Reprican, anarchist extremists and Democrats who want Mr. Romney to fail.”
Mr. Ryan, meeting at the US Chamber of Commerce annual retreat, went on to say that he will join the chamber in working for “real: Republicans to control the House and Senate in 2014. Others at that meeting included Jeb Bush, Jim Baker, Chris Christie, Scott Walker, John Huntsman, Scott Brown and John Kasich. The Kock brothers did nto attend but unnamed sources confirmed that they were major supporters for the meeting.
Notably absent were Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Donald Trump.
