It’s Friday night and we’ve been on the dock in Singapore since Thursday
afternoon, we did spend 24 hours on the hook, but we used that time to
bunker, 20 tons of bunker oil it went quick, it only took three barges and
27 hours, I was up the entire time of course, so I didn’t take the launch
into town, but I did go ashore yesterday, had a nice dinner, and a few
drinks and walked along the riverfront and then took a cab to the other side
of the country and saw the mer-lion sculptures so I could get a photo for
you and realized I had left my camera on the ship, I’ll be back in a couple
of months, so I’ll take pictures then.
I changed two main engine fuel injectors and one generator head, so not a
lot of work, the third was changing a fuel oil safety valve and forgot to
vent it and blew bunker all over the lower plant, the wiper was not pleased,
but we all pitched in and helped him clean it up so it only took about three
hours.
I believe that the electrician and the wiper planned to take the cadet to
Orchard Towers for some debauchery, as I learn more I’ll keep you posted.
I expect to be in New York the first week of January, and then start all
over again.
