(Reuters) – Three vaccines used to prevent respiratory disease in chickens have swapped genes, producing two lethal new strains that have killed tens of thousands of fowl across two states in Australia, scientists reported on Friday.
This is not surprising, but it is frightening. The bible aside, species are not 
separate. Our genomes can combine even without sex and even without humans intentionally making a recombination.
This recombination, including that mediated by viruses, is fundamental to evolution and evolution, unlike what man calls “God,” is not governed by “intelligent design.”
An natural event like this may well have given rise to HIV. However, when we act as gods .. that is by intentionally risking these interactions, we are intelligent and, I would hope, would be aware of the damage we might do …
