Last week The AVE reported that Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, had called an early election for next September. The speculation was that this would free the right-wing PM to undermine the Obama campaign, possibly by attacking Iran.
Early Tuesday, just before parliament was about to vote to disperse., Israel President Shimon Peres’ office said that Prime Minister Netanyahu had reached an agreement with the leading opposition party, Kadima. The two opposites will now form to form a broad-based coalition government.
The dramatic turn of events could influence any decision on a possible Israeli strike on Iran. Kadima’s leader Shaul Mofaz, a former military chief and defense minister, has been a vocal critic of Israel striking Iran’s nuclear sites on its own.
This has to be good news for the Obama campaign!
