A Breitbart Brickbat: An appreciation of the man

Andrew Breitbart shaking his finger dogmatically

Breitbart in full cry in 2010.

The untimely death of hard-Right scandalmonger Andrew Breitbart last week sparked charges of conspiracy and assassination from his more extreme followers.  It was the work of his liberal enemies, they howled.  Nevertheless, the serial media abuser‘s death seems attributable to natural causes: he was a well-known booze hound and junk-food addict and is rumored to have died of a heart attack (his family is mum on the subject, and perforce we will respect their reticence).

I cannot bring myself to feel grief at Breitbart’s passing. On reviewing his long catalog of misdeeds, I felt a blogpost coming on. You can read my thoughts at full length in my blog.  If you have the time, do not neglect to also read the Propagandists in Perspective page linked at the bottom of the Breitbart article.
For a suitable epitaph, check out what Breitbart himself said on the death of Sen. Edward Kennedy.  Mean-spirited as it is, it would be appropriate to carve it on Breitbart’s own tombstone.
