Retired Army Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez said Monday he is considering running for the U.S. Senate in Texas as a Democrat, giving the party a high-profile recruit they hope can resonate with the state’s rapidly growing Hispanic population.
Sanchez said in a statement he will make a decision “in the coming weeks” about seeking the Senate seat being vacated by GOP Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
