The remaining 29 out of 41 higher education institutions have an average research performance that does not meet international benchmarks, the analysis found. The report, which has taken three years to complete, assessed the research activity and quality in 41 institutions, across eight broad discipline clusters, broken down into 22 fields and 157 specific subject areas.
