Arguing with folks with Alternative Reality Syndrome is hard because they live a world very, very different from the real world. ARS is as real a mental illness as depression or paranoid personality.. even more real than schizophrenia. Schizophrenics hear voices and have bizarre ideas but people with ARS make rational decisions based on a reality that is simply different than the real world as sensed by science or even normal observation.
ARS can be of any political persuasion though currently in the US is mainly seen on the right. Examples on the left and the right include creationism, climate denial, existence of a soul when sperm and egg join, Hillary’s murder of Vince Foster, virgins as a reward for martyrdom, infallibility of the Pope, the Bilderberg conspiracy, existence of human races, …………..
