FACEBOOK: Why Muslim Bakers Want to Live in Indiana

Chiho Fox from FACEBOOK

If I went into a Muslim bakery, (is at a real thing?) and demanded a gay wedding cake they would have to bake one. But what if I demanded a cake with the picture of Muhammad on it? Would they be required by law to do that?

Donald Paul Vincent As other people have pointed out, as that baker would not have likely made a cake like that for anyone, they would not be sued for discrimination.

  • Bill Phillips It’s not a ‘good question’ at all.

The answer is no. See, there’s a difference between baking a cake (or pizza) to be served at a wedding and what you’re suggesting.

  • Chiho Fox Well is it really that different? So I for one oppose jewish circumcision of babies, that is an event, and it is like a wedding; I am morally opposed to that as an atheist. So, if I were to be a wine maker, would I be forced to sell wine to that event?
  • Bill Phillips Yes. As long as you didn’t have to write “my religion sucks ass” on the bottles.
