FACEBOOK: Dom Holden holds forth on Seattle Housing

Seattle is finally seizing derelict properties in the Roosevelt neighborhood, which is smart, but they’re proposing to use that land for a little park. THAT’S GODDAMN STUPID. Seattle needs less underused open space and more buildings stacked with people. Right now, there’s a symbiotic relationship of too little density to support more grade-seperated rail transit, and too little grade separated rail transit to encourage more density. It’s like the idiots on the city council (listening to the dolts in “neighborhood” groups who want the city covered in nothing but freeways and parks) found the sweet spot of a shitty, sleepy city that’s nonetheless unaffordable and jammed with traffic.
