Tasered and arrested for owning a home in Alabama while black

photo“The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail — its roof may shake — the wind may blow through it — the storm may enter — the rain may enter — but the King of England cannot enter — all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement!” — William Pitt, Speech on the Excise Bill, House of Commons (March 1763)

Unless you’re a black person in Alabama in which case you’ll be tased, arrested, and jailed if you refuse to let white cops enter your home and look around as they please without a search warrant.
