ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — The AP reports that Turkey is using its air force against Kurdish rebels inside Turkey. Turkey is a prosperous NATO ally that has nevertheless so far sat back and watched DAISH* advance in the Syrian town of Kobane, The reason is that the extremists are doing the dirty work of Turkey against the Kurds, an ethnic group divided among Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Kurdistan … but all really one people who want their own country. The Turkish warplanes that struck suspected Kurdish rebel positions in southeastern Turkey were also the face of peace talks intended to end a 30-year insurgency by the Turkish Kurds.
* Dolat (ISIL, IS: the Arabic term for the Islamic Iraq and Syria) is the proper name for ISIS. DAISH is the term Muslim states use for ISIS. IS, the Islamic state claims to be a caliphate, that is a government under the successor to Mohammed. As such the name IS is an anathemas to Muslims who do not recognize the leader of IS as the Caliph.
