Lauren Boebert, 36, a grandmother

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), 36, got knocked up in high school and dropped out.

She wouldn’t get her GED until 16 years later, just months before the voters of western Colorado elected her to Congress.

Well, now her son (photo, left) is 17 and a high school senior, too. Following in his mother’s footsteps, he knocked up a girl and is going to be a father.

Meanwhile, Boebert rants against sex-education in schools (read story here). I guess she wants to make sure her grandson carries on the family tradition.

“There’s something special about rural conservative communities,” Boebert said. Special? How about weird? “Teen moms’ rates are higher in rural conservative areas because they understand the preciousness of a life that it’s about to be born,” she explained. (See story here.) Bragging that the sticks have higher teen pregnancy rates, uh-huh.

“They value life,” she said. They also make life, because they have nothing to do after school except fool around in the hay loft. We’d better get them broadband fast (which is coming under Biden’s infrastructure bill), or at least send them some video games, to stave off a population explosion.

An anonymous poster on HorsesAss.org commented, “When asked point blank how old her Son’s baby mama was and if she was of age when she got knocked up, America’s Dumbest Congressperson said… ‘She was over 14.’” I don’t know if Boebert actually said that, but I wouldn’t put it past her.

Maybe the voters in her district knew what they were doing when they shipped her to Washington D.C., because that puts 1,873 road miles (1,638 miles as the crow flies) between them and her. Having seen that locking their daughters’ bedroom doors doesn’t work, maybe they hope distance will.

In any case, I doubt the girl’s parents are as thrilled about this as Boebert is. Now she’s not only their congressperson, but also an in-law.
