Nikki Haley, secessionist

Nikki Haley wants to be president, but is struggling to explain who she is, so the media are stepping in.

She “defended states’ rights to secede from the United States, South Carolina Confederate History Month and the Confederate flag in a 2010 interview,” CNN reported on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 (read story here).

She was running for governor, and her defense of “Southern Culture” evidently went over well, because she was elected that year.

In an interview with a “local activist group” whose board included a White Nationalist, Haley described the Civil War as two sides fighting for different values, one for “tradition” and the other for “change.” The “tradition” was slavery,” and “change” was ending the practice in the U.S. of humans owning other humans.

At that early stage of her political career, Haley also defended the Confederate flag as symbolizing “service, sacrifice and heritage.” But that flag means different things to different people, and to America’s blacks it’s a symbol of more than a century of KKK terrorism.

Haley has said she believes the Constitution gives states the “right” to secede from the United States. Never mind that the Civil War settled that issue, at the cost of over 700,000 American lives; or that a Supreme Court ruling says otherwise.

Well, now we know who Nikki Haley is.
