Rep. Greene admits being a sucker

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) as a lot of things to put behind her.

For her, banishment from House committees tops the list. Democrats, who disciplined her for publicly advocating violence against Democrats, are now a minority.

Newly enthroned House speaker Kevin McCarthy had previously promised to reverse punishing that behavior.

Apparently second on her list is explaining away her verbalizing QAnon conspiracy theories. “Jewish space lasers” is the one that got her widely mocked (see story here). Greene now says she “easily got sucked into” those ideas (see story here).

“Well, like a lot of people today, I had easily gotten sucked into some things I had seen on the internet,” the millionaire businesswoman said. (She and her husband owned a construction company together, and she also owned a gym.)

Is that kind of gullibility a qualification for representing her constituents in Congress? Apparently they think so. I wouldn’t drive through such a place, let alone establish a business there.

There are other things Greene has less difficulty putting behind her, such as her marriage, which broke up over her adulterous affairs (see story here). In fact, there’s very little about her past life she misses, now that she’s found a new calling as an over-the-top rabblerouser.
