Consequences

“A right-wing organization that calls the perpetrators of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol ‘political prisoners’ is trying to find jobs for the insurrectionists,” Raw Story reported (here) on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.

“So far, around 870 people have been arrested” of the “thousands of Trump supporters [who] descended on the Capitol, overran police in violent confrontations, smashed doors and windows to enter the building and stormed the House and Senate as they were certifying the 2020 election,” Raw Story says.

A guy named Matt Braynard formed a group in Arizona to find jobs for them. This is good. We all should support efforts to rehabilitate criminals.

“Many of these folks … have had their savings wiped out, lost their jobs, lost their homes, lost their businesses,” he says. They’re lucky. In most countries, people who try to overthrow the government, and fail, are shot or thrown in dungeons and never seen again.
