Most of the time, not much happens in Delmont (photo, left), a bucolic hamlet where a couple of important highways intersect in Western Pennsylvania Appalachian coal country.
Until some guy a 911 caller reported for driving erratically pulls off the highway, gets out of his car wearing a safety vest and rainbow clown wig, and goes inside the Dairy Queen with a handgun looking for “Democrats and liberals to kill.”
After being arrested, he explained to police officers — who found two more guns in his car — that he was “undercover” and “working to restore Trump to President King of the United States.”
I suppose we should all carry “Trump 2024” campaign buttons in our pockets for days like this, especially if we’re traveling in Trump country. (Get yours here.) There’s no telling when they might come in handy. Read story here.
Update (9/16/22): Police identified the suspect as Jan Valentine Stawovy, 61, of nearby Hunker, Pennsylvania; he was arraigned on firearms, disorderly conduct, and terroristic threat charges (see story here). The “President King” reference suggests he’s a QAnon follower (see story here).
