Clarence Thomas’s supreme hypocrisy

“Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas clutched his pearls on Friday as he regarded Americans so distraught over the prospect of losing human rights in their country that some showed up at justices’ Washington-area homes to address the people who have the power to change course. Conservatives like Thomas, he said, have never subjected their political opponents to such tactics. ‘We’ve never done it,’ Thomas said, addressing a wood-paneled room of assembled conservatives in Dallas. ‘You would never visit Supreme Court justices’ houses when things didn’t go our way. We didn’t throw temper tantrums. It is incumbent on us to always act appropriately and not to repay tit for tat,’ he said. The audience clapped.”

Technically, and very narrowly interpreted (like he interprets the Constitution), he’s not wrong: Conservatives don’t “visit” liberal justices homes when things don’t go their way. Maybe because there aren’t many liberal justices’ homes to visit, thanks to GOP machinations, and these days the court’s rulings go conservatives’ way. But Thomas is full of it when he says things like this, which are so obviously untrue, and the larger truth is conservative tantrums like these:
