I saw reports of this early today, but couldn’t verify it, so delayed posting about it, and major media still aren’t reporting it. Russia is denying it. Yahoo News said this afternoon (Friday, May 6, 2022) the ship was hit by a Ukrainian missile near Snake Island (of “Go F— Yourself” fame) in the Black Sea, and “was left burning, according to unconfirmed reports” (see story here). The alleged victim is the Admiral Makarov, a 409-foot frigate (shown below in the English Channel), which is almost as big as Putin’s yacht. It was part of Russia’s Baltic Fleet, and if this report is true, is now part of Russia’s Black Sea Scrap Metal For Recycling Fleet.
