Wax Putin kicked off his pedestal

Putin’s effigy has been kicked out of the Paris Grévin Museum’s wax figure display collection (read story here).

“Current events,” i.e. Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, “mean we don’t want him here and the staff don’t want to walk past him every day,” the museum director explained.

Do they need a reason? If they sent him to the warehouse for the hell of it, I’d be fine with that. I didn’t like Putin even before he was a war criminal.

The museum suggested his spot may be taken by a statue of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. That’s an excellent idea. Zelensky is transforming himself into a Churchill. When they make his wax statue, it should have a moveable arm, because everyone will want to shake its hand.

I don’t know whether the more famous Madam Tussauds wax museum in London has a Putin mockup, or what they’ve done with it if they do. But I’ll bet Putin can’t get a restaurant table in London or Paris.

The way things are going for him, he may not be able to get one in Moscow before long, either. P.S., he’s been looking a little waxy lately. He’s reportedly not well.
