Teaching right from wrong

A lawyer representing one of the Minneapolis cops present when Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd is blaming inadequate training, Huffington Post reported on Saturday, January 29, 2022 (read story here).

The three ex-cops, who are being prosecuted for federal civil rights, didn’t just watch while Chauvin killed Floyd. One knelt on Floyd’s back, another held his legs, and the third prevented bystanders from intervening.

The lawyer nitpicked the police department’s training and policy manuals. But isn’t this a simple case of right from wrong, and weren’t their mothers supposed to teach them that? The bystanders certainly knew it was wrong.

That’s why these cops told them to mind their own business.
