The thick blue line may not work if you sucker-punch a federal mail carrier.
Robert Guitierrez is a retired cop and a Trumper. He’d been arguing with the mailman “for a couple of weeks over politics,” a local TV station reported here.
Inevitably, it came to blows. Three punches, to be exact, all thrown by Guitierrez (watch video below).
When the cops came, they told Guitierrez, “Being a retired police officer, I don’t think you’ll be going to jail. Okay?”
GONG!!! Wrong answer! Blue privilege (see link here) goes only so far, as in “though the officer received blue privilege on that day [from the local cops], federal investigators have since taken over the case and charged him.”
Moral: Don’t coldcock the mailman because he voted for Biden. If you do that to your 65-year-old neighbor, you have a better chance of getting away with it, at least in that town.
