The suspected driver of the SUV that plowed into a Christmas parade, killing 5 and injuring 48, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on Sunday, November 21, 2021, is a man with a long rap sheet dating back over 20 years.
He was out of jail on a measly $1,000 bond for a prior incident in which he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face and tried to run over her with his car.
Yesterday, he reportedly was fleeing from police after another “domestic incident” when he veered into the parade route, crashed through barricades, and drove at high speed on closed streets before slamming into parade marchers.
The dead were 4 women with a group called “Milwaukee Dancing Grannies” and an elderly pedestrian.
He’s now facing 5 murder charges, and assorted other charges, that likely will put him away for life if he’s convicted. Wisconsin doesn’t have a death penalty.
This morning, I saw several rightwing blogs trying to associate him with Black Lives Matter, without offering any evidence of a connection with that movement, or any political or social-movement motive.
