Full-length feature film: Thirteen Days (2000)

This film depicts the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, focusing on a tug-of-war between Kennedy administrative doves and Pentagon hawks, interspersed with action scenes. As for historical accuracy, several top Kennedy officials said the film exaggerates the role of Kenneth O’Donnell (played by Kevin Costner), but otherwise called it a “constructive and responsible portrayal” of actual events. Worth watching to see how the Cold War’s key event unfolded, which came closer to nuclear war than was appreciated at the time. Running time: 2 hrs. 25 mins.
