Minnesota man wins guilty plea jackpot

This plea bargain is a bargain.

Mark Anthony Ulsaker, 51, got 5 years of probation and 100 hours of community service for pleading guilty to “threats of violence.” Assault charges were dropped.

Ulsaker attacked an elderly man, 80, and his wife, 78, with a golf club and also sucker-punched the man in the head. Then he tried to run over the woman with his pickup truck, then injured a cop while resisting arrest.

Read story here.

According to this report, the original charges could have sent him to a penitentiary for 15 years. I don’t get why he got no prison time at all. He won’t even have a felony record after completing his probation (details here). That’s ridiculous. Minnesota is soft on crime.
