They weren’t tourists and it wasn’t a protest

From a CNN story published on Friday, July l9, 2021 (read it here):
“Officer AW stepped out of a tunnel where police were congregated and into the crowd to help Rosanne Boyland, 34, a rioter and QAnon supporter who was trampled by the mob. …
“Prosecutors say AW’s body-worn camera video shows defendant Jack Whitton leaping over a barricade, knocking AW onto his back and attempting to wrestle away his baton. Over AW’s head, other rioters hit the police line with flagpoles and metal poles. The crowd drags AW into the crowd while he pleads for help. Members of the crowd ignore the plea, one rioter leans down and shouts, ‘traitor.’ Much of the clip is from AW’s perspective on the ground looking up.
“The attack landed AW in the hospital, where he got staples in his head to stop the bleeding. Whitton was charged with several felonies, including assault.”
In a previous story (here), CNN had reported,
“About 20 minutes after the attack, Whitton allegedly told police officers in the line protecting the Capitol, ‘You’re going to die tonight.’ Later, prosecutors have noted, Whitton boasted to friends that he ‘fed an officer to the people,’ according to court filings.”
This isn’t “free speech” or “protest,” it’s insurrection.
