Ex-Fox host rips Tucker Carlson as white supremacist

Gretchen Carlson, formerly of “Fox & Friends,” who left the rightwing network with a hefty sexual harassment settlement in her purse, used colorful language this week to describe the Murdoch family’s defense of incendiary Fox host Tucker Carlson, who’s using his show to promote white supremacy.

Huffington Post explains (here), “After the Anti-Defamation League urged the network to drop [him], Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch defended him, saying ‘we respectfully disagree’ and claiming the company ‘abhors antisemitism, white supremacy and racism of any kind.’” Her response:

Um, coming from a former Fox star … touché.

Look, everyone knows what Fox is. But while the GOP’s unofficial propaganda shop tries to pretend not to be racist, because that looks bad, Tucker Carlson doesn’t even bother.

Anyone who says, “I have less political power because they are importing a brand-new electorate. Why should I sit back and take that?” — specifically to promote “the racist ‘white replacement’ conspiracy theory, in which shadowy elites are supposedly using non-white immigrants to diminish white culture” — as he just did on the air, is a racist. And the network that keeps this racist on the air, and broadcasts this garbage, is racist, too. Gretchen Carlson ought to know; she worked there.

Gretchen Carlson is a journalism heavyweight. A former Miss America, author, and women’s advocate, she was “named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People In The World in 2017″ (read her bio here). Tucker Carlson (bio here), who grew up as a spoiled rich kid, went into political propaganda work because his dad told him “they’ll take anybody” — a political operative himself, he apparently wasn’t impressed by his kid’s academic record (which included getting kicked out of a private boarding school).

She’s right, he’s full of it, and so is his employer.
