Three more spineless Republicans

Trump called Ted Cruz’s father a terrorist during the 2016 primary debates. Now, Ted Cruz loves Trump.

More recently, like last week, Trump called Mitch McConnell “a dumb son of a bitch.” McConnell’s reply:

“What I’m concentrating on is the future and what we are confronted with here is a totally left-wing administration, with a slight majority in the House, a 50-50 Senate trying to transform America into something no one voted for last year” blah, blah, blah, McConnell told reporters.

Meanwhile, the No. 2 Senate Republican, John Thune, added,

“I wish he {Trump] wouldn’t do it but I don’t think there’s any way that you could change how he does things. I think we just have to adapt the best we can and stay focused on what are our objectives” blah, blah, blah, Thune said.

If Republicans had any spine, Cruz would’ve punched Trump in the mouth right there on the debate stage, and McConnell would’ve punched Trump in the mouth again at Mar-a-Lago or wherever he could catch up with him, but there’s a distinct lack of manhood in the Republican Party these days.

Personally, I’d hate to be stuck in a foxhole with any of these jellyfish in a shooting war. But I wouldn’t have to, because none of them ever served in the military, except McConnell, who lasted only six weeks in the Army Reserve and didn’t make it through basic training during the Vietnam War. Me? I’m a Vietnam veteran.

I expected fisticuffs on the debate stage when they debated. At least the old folding chair routine. Could the Republican method of choosing a Presidential candidate be more democratic than the Democratic parties? After all it is votes that count in election not punching out or brawls. And guess what McConnell is a Vietnam veteran too. He got an Honorable (medical) discharge. [This comment has been edited.]

McConnell is not a Vietnam veteran. He’s a Vietnam-era veteran. He was thousands of miles away from the shooting.
