Stimulus payment

This time I’m getting my stimulus payment 6 weeks earlier, and by direct deposit instead of by mail. Nothing’s changed on my end. I’ve had direct deposit of my government benefits (social security) all along. The only thing that has changed is new management overseeing federal relief efforts.

So. If you file your taxes and use direct deposit then you would have had all your payments by direct deposit. So you have not had to pay more taxes to Uncle Sam the last few years. You have simply made choices and may have a preference in getting an actual check from the government, and insisted on a bit of privacy or concerned that giving the government too much information enables an entity that can also take away the information that would enable a taking. May not have a thing to do with the competence of one administration, or the competence of the bureaucracy.

What you say is incorrect. The IRS has no deposit information it didn’t have all along. I did nothing different with my taxes. I made no “choices” (I was given none). The new administration simply did this faster and better than the previous one.
