PHOTOGRAPHY: “Betrayal”

From here,

“During his rally just prior to the riot, Trump had vowed to march on the Capitol with his supporters, but instead retreated to the White House to watch on TV”

to here,

“Jacob Anthony Chansley, 33, has claimed through his attorney that he was ‘duped’ by Donald Trump into participating in the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol”

to here.

“Chansley is being held without bail on federal charges and faces 25 years in prison. Above, a court sketch shows him in a video appearance in Phoenix at a pre-trial detainment hearing”

What, no pardon? Now what?

“‘My client is understandably compelled to reconcile the words of the former president with the subsequent actions of the former president,’ attorney Albert S. Watkins said in a statement. ‘The reconciliation of a betrayal necessarily requires the bellying up to the bar by the betrayed to acknowledge their role in making themselves ripe for betrayal,’ he added.” Story here.

Sure it is a tactic to blame the ex President, but one bound to fail, He and his attorney need to fight the actual charges and make the government prove them. This guy stood out in the crowd, but most of his actions in the Capitol building fall under protest. Government officials are in overdrive, and seeking revenge and retribution rather than justice. Biden is calling for healing, and unity, ect. Some mercy could go a long way and salve hurts. Maybe he should get out the pardon pen.
Perhaps charging these folks more appropriately with trespass and lower misdemeanors would get this into the rearview mirror. A good tongue lashing and a hundred, five hundred or a thousand dollar fine might be appropriate for the majority of rioters who rioted (protested) in the Capitol.

Maybe Washington’s football team new name could be the Rioters,

It’s simple. Prosecute them for the crimes they committed, and sentence them for the crimes they’re convicted of. Hold them responsible for their actions, and don’t accept blaming someone else as an excuse. Pretty basic stuff.
