What a cop did when he caught a mom stealing food for her kids

A Massachusetts cop was called to a grocery store by store security who told him two women were seen trying to make off with groceries they didn’t pay for. Upon talking to them, he learned one of the women was stealing Christmas dinner for the two kids with her. “Obviously, this family was in need,” the cop said later.

He did his job: He issued a no-trespassing notice effectively banning them from that grocery store. He also exercised his own judgment: He didn’t arrest them. Then he did a generous thing: He reached into his own pocket and bought them a $250 gift card to buy groceries at another store.

God gave us a brain to think with and a heart to feel compassion with. Our brains and hearts are not free gifts; we’re expected to use them. Otherwise, those organs are just useless baggage. Why have a brain if you don’t use it to think?
