Judges toss more Trump lawsuits

Judges in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Georgia rejected more election lawsuits by Republicans and the Trump campaign on Thursday, November 19, 2020, CNN reported, adding that “nearly no viable post-election cases remain.” Read story here.

In Arizona, a state judge threw out a lawsuit that could have delayed the state’s certification of ballots.
A Pennsylvania judge rejected one of several efforts by the Trump campaign to throw out absentee ballots. This case involved 2,177 ballots, far short of what Trump needs to overturn Biden’s 82,000+ lead in that state, and Trump has lost similar cases in other Pennsylvania counties.
Meanwhile, a Trump-appointed federal judge in Georgia rejected a lawsuit by a Republican elector, Lin Wood (photo, left), a high-profile Atlanta lawyer who often represents rightwing litigants and is currently involved in the Kenosha shooter’s defense. Wood sought to block the certification of election results. That judge’s ruling is likely to shut down several similar lawsuits.
