No surprises in Washington races

As of about 10:30 p.m. Seattle time, outcomes are taking shape. Everyone you’d expect to get elected is winning, and everything you’d expect to pass is passing. In the governor’s race, Loren Culp is getting about 40% of the votes, which means he only got the voters who always vote Republican. The only statewide office held by a Republican is secretary of state, and looks to stay that way. Nor will there by any change in the partisan makeup of the state’s congressional delegate. So, basically, nothing has changed in Washington state politics.
