Trump says he knew Covid-19 was serious, but downplayed it because, “I didn’t want people to panic.”
Here’s what’s wrong with that:
They believed it was a hoax. They didn’t social distance. They didn’t wear masks. They spread it. Now America has a crisis that didn’t have to be this costly and deadly.
HE SANDBAGGED THEM.
CALMING THE PUBLIC IS ONE THING.
MAKING A SITUATION WORSE IS SOMETHING ELSE.
THE WAY HE DID IT WAS IRRESPONSIBLE.
