Including in the head
Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, was shot in the right groin, back, left hand, left thigh, and right side of his forehead.
Back? Gonna be hard to claim self-defense for that one.
New video shows another victim, Gaige Grosskreutz, 26, who survived, pulling out a handgun just before he was shot in the arm at short range. Grosskreutz was legally armed; the accused shooter, Kyle Rittenhouse (photo, left), 17, was not.
He’s too young to legally possess the gun he allegedly used to kill Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, 26, who were said to have been unarmed.
If Grosskreutz had shot Rittenhouse, he may have been able to validly claim self-defense, as Rittenhouse was pointing a gun at him and had already killed two people. Other reports say all three shooting victims were trying to disarm Rittenhouse.
Rosenbaum threw a plastic bag at Rittenhouse. Huber struck him with a skateboard, but on the shoulder, not head, while trying to wrest away Rittenhouse’s rifle with his other hand.
Rittenhouse’s attorney, celebrity lawyer Lin Wood, has indicated his client will claim self-defense. Given that Rittenhouse drove 30 miles across state lines with a weapon he couldn’t legally possess to participate in a riot, that seems to defy common sense. But he is entitled to a presumption of innocence until found guilty in a court of law.
