FBI “Most Wanted” fugitive nabbed. Some guy named Yaser who’s been on the run since 2008 for the “honor killings” of his two teenaged daughters. (Story here; for the Wikipedia article about “honor killing” go here.) Honor killings are a real problem in some parts of the world, e.g. Egypt (where Yaser’s from) and Pakistan; he brought the custom to Texas, where it doesn’t go over as well as in those places.

“Dead,” toe-tagged, and body-bagged woman wakes up in funeral home. Read story here. Reminds me of a Gary Larson Far Side cartoon (click to enlarge). It’s a serious matter, though, and the fire department medics are in hot water.

FBI opens civil-rights probe of Jacob Blake shooting. We were told days ago this was coming. Read story here. Meanwhile, rioting continues, and now two people (but not Blake) are dead.

Michael Cohen helped Falwell suppress lascivious photos. This isn’t surprising; Cohen had his fingers in a lot of pies. What’s surprising is he hasn’t been whacked for knowing too much. Read story here.

Woman doesn’t get pregnant from toilet seat. Only gets Covid-19. Apparently this virus is more contagious than human chromosomes, but perhaps only by a little, because there’s a lot of us floating around. And it’s not totally clear she got Covid-19 on the plane, or if she did, that she got it in the airplane cabin’s restroom. I won’t speculate where else she might have got it. Read story here.

NBA players are protesting the Jacob Blake shooting, forcing the NBA to cancel playoff games. The WNBA also was forced to cancel games. Read story here.

I don’t need to post anything about the storm bearing down on Louisiana, because it’s all over the news. There have been some new developments in the Jacob Blake case here and here. And the 17-year-old who allegedly killed two people in Kenosha is a former “police cadet” who littered his social media posts with “Blue Lives Matter” and “Back the Blue” sloganeering; he’s probably not going to be a cop now.
