Mexico Introduces New Sport .. WALL SCALING

(TA News, Mexico City) OOM .. the Olympic Organization of Mexico, is announcing that it plans to introduce a new sport: WALL SCALING.

Years after it was first promised and at a cost of more than $10 million per linear mile, President Donald Trump is confident that his newest stretch of a strengthened barrier along the U.S. southern border is “virtually impenetrable.”  Mr. Trump even told reporters:

“We have, I guess you could say, world-class mountain climbers. We got climbers,” Trump said beside a newly finished section of the barrier in Otay Mesa, California, which tops heights of 30 feet. “We had 20 mountain climbers. That’s all they do—they love to climb mountains. They can have it. Me, I don’t want to climb mountains. But they’re very good, and some of them were champions. And we gave them different prototypes of walls, and this was the one that was hardest to climb.”

The US climber test, Trump boasted, may have happened but Mexico is unconvinced. A team of Mexican girls readily scaled a section of Trump’s wall in 15 seconds.

Mexico’s version of the sport will fit in well with plans of the Olympic Committee for next year.  In 2020, climbing will be an official Olympic sport with three events — lead, bouldering and speed climbing. What about the Mexican verson using the US wall as a standard? Given the success of the three Mexican girls,OOM is willing to spend money to turn Trump’s wall into a  sport. Athletes, called escaladores in Spanish and boulderers in English , will compete in three classes .. WALL POLE VAULT, WALL CLIMB WITH GRAPPLING HOOK, and UNASSISTED WALL CLIMB.

In honor of the American president. The winning escaldor or boulderer will announce his or her triumph by sounding a trumpet at the top of the wall.

Mexico’s Olympic Scaling Wall will be constructed to standards set by the US Government and tested by the stndards Mr. Trump already decribed.  . “We have, I guess you could say, world-class mountain climbers. Jesse Grupper.  Jesse Grupper, who won the gold medal in the men’s sport lead category of this year’s USA Climbing Sport & Speed Open National Championships said “I have never heard of any climbers ever being recruited to try and climb a border wall,” “I have never heard of any climbers ever being recruited to try to climb a border wall,” said

Kyra Condie, who currently ranks second among the nation’s women boulderers said “It would even be hard to find any of us willing to do anything to help Trump and his efforts in any way.”

Ross Fulkerson, a seven-time member of the U.S. national team said, “Definitely no well-recognized U.S. climbers have taken part in something like that,” “I haven’t heard of any climbers ever helping out with testing.”
