Zoo tiger gets covid-19 from keeper

Four tigers and three lions at the Bronx zoo are suffering from dry coughs, and one of the tigers has tested positive for coronavirus, NBC News reported Sunday (April 5, 2020). The cats apparently were exposed to the virus by a zookeeper who later developed symptoms. They are expected to recover. Read story here.

Update: The World Health Organization has received a few reports of dogs and cats getting Covid-19 from their human caretakers, but is unaware of any transmission from animals to humans. Read that story here.
