Stay home, stay safe!

From a CNN article published on March 31, 2020 (read it here):

” … [S]ocial distancing may be slowing the rate at which coronavirus cases otherwise would have increased in the United States. … In Washington state’s King County, two new reports from an institute that specializes in studying disease transmission dynamics showed social distancing measures appeared to be making a difference.”

” … [E]ven if social distancing is maintained through May, some 82,000 people in the US could die from coronavirus by August, a University of Washington model shows. The model estimates that more than 2,000 people could die each day in the United States in mid-April, when the virus is predicted to hit the country hardest.”
” … [H]ealth officials still are pleading for people to stay home …. ‘We don’t have a magic bullet (treatment) for this disease, so the best thing we can do is prevent infection,’ … Dr. Rochelle Walensky, chief of infectious disease at Massachusetts General Hospital, told CNN ….”
“More than two dozen governors have … issu[ed] stay-at-home orders that now cover more than three-fourths of the American population — and authorities have begun cracking down on those who refuse to abide.”

Could also be slowing due to spring. How do poor or middle class people manage to stay home for more than a couple weeks? Many cannot and if it looks like they will loose their home or apartment there could be pitchfork in the streets, and these politicians are hoping people just go along. At s0me point they will have to implement curfews and martial law. And courts after the fact could well fid the acts already in place unconstitutional as the government cannot show a sufficient reason to suspend individual constitutional rights. Thus far although bad in some areas we are not seeing the predicted deaths of various models. And herd immunity could bring this to a quick end and people back to work. Maybe we should be exposing people between 20 and 45 who rarely get sick. they stay away from the older population (60 plus) for three weeks and America gets back to work and school. And farmers have to get their crops in, and just like in any other industry social distancing is just not all that possible.

Mark, people are getting sick and dying. Please look at the big picture. Do what the health experts say. They know more about this than we do. Everyone needs to do that. This is not the time to be questioning authority. It’s people’s safety that matters.
