This factually untrue. In 1864 no Confederate State participated in the US Presidential election.
The National Union Party brought together War Democrats and Republicans. No radical Republicans until election of 1866.
While Johnson runs as the National Union Party though he did get support in the Democratic party he did not win their nomination, and Grant goes on to win as the Republican Candidate. 1872 is the National Union Party last hurrah. No tea bags were ever involved.
