“Officials in Montana are warning residents … about surveys sent by the Republican National Committee that mimic … federal census forms, with the goal of soliciting money for President Trump’s reelection campaign,” the Washington Post said, and called the mailers “misleading.”

Congress passed a law in the 1990s outlawing such tactics after previous similar fundraising efforts by Republicans.
