The Simple Gun Law

GUNS ARE DANGEROUS

Americans have a gun fetish. Fed by TV, we believe a gun is a powerful alternative to a TV remote control, point, threaten and whoever you want will do whatever you want. If not you can kill them. Ask any cop or gang member if that is how it works?

As a society, we control anything people can easily use to hurt each other. Gun violence is a fact of life in the United States and, in 2019, mass shootings continue to occur with frightening regularity. However, this doesn’t mean there are also responsible gun owners around America, gun owners that may enjoy reading into Guns America and Boberg XR9S reviews or similar firearms that they may own, or wish to own in the future.

Leaving aside the fact that the gun lobby misstates the decision in Heller. Scalia explicitly wrote that guns must be controlled. The NRA ignores Scalia’s words.

Here is what can be done:

1. All guns should be registered with the Federal government.

2. Every gun needs an indelible serial number. Possession of a gun without a serial number should lead to a fine of 25% of any wealth owned by the criminal, a sentence of five years in prison, and a tattoo identifying the criminal as a gun abuser.

3. Gun ownership should require a license to own, a permit for every gun owned, and a permit to purchase and possess ammunition for each gun. Possession of an unregistered gun, including a gun registered to someone else without a written permit, should lead to a fine of 25% of any wealth owned by the criminal, a sentence of five years in prison, and a tattoo identifying the criminal as a gun abuser. Possession of unauthorized ammunition or accessories. including magazines, should lead to a fine of 25% of any wealth owned by the criminal, a sentence of five years in prison, and a tattoo identifying the criminal as a gun abuser. The improper sale or transfer of a gun should lead, for each gun, to a fine of 25% of any wealth owned by the criminal, a sentence of five years in prison, and a tattoo identifying the criminal as a gun abuser.

4. Gun abusers should, like sex abusers be publically registered.

5. Any harm done by a gun should create a chain of civil liability. The shooter, the person in possession, the owner and any vendors in the chain of ownership should be liable for damages.

The 2nd amendment prohibits or means most of your solutions are no gos. It is there and it is not gong away.

    What can be done.
More sex and nudity on tv and less violence on tv.
TV news showing the actual carnage after shootings.
The government relying less on guns. Ending endless wars. Bring the boys and girls overseas home. Disarm the police where most police most of the time do not have a firearm on their person. Going British is something governments (Federal, State and Local) could do that would do the most to lessen the American gun fetish. Also limiting the firearms the police could use to those any citizen can own would also help.

It is not the guns that is the problem. They are just tools. It is us and our society that is the problem.
