The Art of The Real Deal

Originally a Tudor fortress, Walmer Castle has evolved into a homely residence for many well-known names from the Duke of Wellington to the Queen Mother. Inside you can explore Wellington’s career, the story of his life and death and even see the original Wellington Boots. Outside, discover majestic sea views and eight acres of magnificent gardens and woodland. See what’s happening in the kitchen garden too, where food and cut flowers are grown for the tearooms. Winner of the Horticulture Week Custodian Awards 2018 – Best Community Initiative: Deal Community Hop Farm. Winner of the Horticulture Week Custodian Awards 2017 – Best Garden or Arboretum. Awarded Silver Gilt in the Heritage Garden of the Year category, South and South East in Bloom 2017.

The people of Deal would like a Brexit deal.

This town on the Channel near the British port of Dover voted  strongly for Brexit.  Now, after the endless debates the townsfolk are in crisis … their economy lacks a rudder and  with no agreement to the Channel waters are rough!

“Potentially it is going to be a nightmare,” said Michael Eddy, a district councilor.  With no agreement the town expects 50-mile (80-kilometer) traffic jam. “What then happens with local people wanting to go about their business, wanting to get to hospitals, wanting to get their kids to school, all of that kind of stuff?” he said.

Britain will leave the EU on March 29, with or without a deal, unless it cancels Brexit or secures a delay from the EU.

Wonder how they would vote now. Maybe not as heavily in favor of Brexit? Thus far parliament is not searching for window dressing to stay in. What scares the government is having to hold elections for Britain’s elected offials in the EU.
